Marinas

As the yacht industry grows in Asia so do the facilities needed to support it. For many years marinas and yacht clubs have bought the most basic of covers, often with different aspects of cover from several different insurers and sometimes different brokers, always relying on the cheapest cover to get by. This leaves huge gaps and opens the door to legal action and financial loss to the marina operator or yacht club Officers (or Directors) …. Often volunteers. Proper insurance cover is expensive, but then so are the yachts and guests who populate these facilities. There are many different aspects of cover a marina / yacht club needs and some difficult conversations are required to ensure the right ones and the right limits of cover are bought. Honesty, integrity and understanding of the risks involved will help these facilities protect themselves properly.
